Loyalty, Membership and Gamification. Built Your Way.
Introducing Glownet’s new engagement engine.

Loyalty means different things to different people.
For one operator, it might mean points earned on every purchase. For another, it could mean happy hour pricing, a buy-one-get-one-free promotion, exclusive membership benefits or a reward for exploring different parts of a destination.
It might be a simple offer designed to increase spend today.
It might be a paid membership programme built to last for years.
It might be a challenge that encourages customers to visit more often, try new experiences or progress towards a new level of status.
There is no universal loyalty model because no two businesses, audiences or customer journeys are the same.
That is why Glownet does not prescribe one.
You set the rules. You set the tiers. You set the rewards.
Glownet’s new engagement engine brings loyalty, membership and gamification together in one configurable framework, connected to the customer’s identity and the wider Glownet platform.
Loyalty: you set the rules
Traditional loyalty platforms often begin and end with points.
Glownet goes much further.
Operators can create rules around products, spending, wallet top-ups, transaction types, locations, time periods, membership tiers and customer activity.
Those rules can power familiar promotions such as:
- Buy one, get one free
- Buy four, get the fifth free
- Happy hour pricing
- Percentage or fixed-value discounts
- Points earned on selected purchases
- Cashback or additional wallet value
- Benefits available only to selected members
- Rewards after reaching a spending threshold
The real flexibility comes from how those conditions can be combined.
A happy hour offer could apply only at a particular outlet, during a defined time window and across selected products.
A BOGO promotion could be limited to VIP members or available only once per customer.
Another rule could track activity across several visits and unlock a future benefit when the customer reaches a cumulative target.
The operator decides what triggers the rule, which customers qualify, where and when it applies, which products or activities count, and whether the outcome is immediate or earned for later.
By combining customer, product, location, transaction, time and membership conditions, operators can create an almost limitless range of promotions and engagement journeys.
The same engine can support everything from a straightforward happy hour to a destination-wide loyalty strategy spanning multiple visits, locations and customer interactions.
Membership: you set the tiers
Membership gives the customer relationship structure.
With Glownet, membership can be paid, earned or a combination of both.
A customer might purchase an annual membership, qualify through spending or participation, or pay to join before progressing into higher tiers through continued engagement.
The operator decides how customers join, how they progress and what each level unlocks.
A programme might include Member, VIP and Premium tiers. Another might combine paid membership levels with earned status based on visits, purchases, activity or cumulative spend.
Operators can define:
- How customers enter the programme
- Whether membership is paid, earned or both
- The starting tier
- Automatic enrolment
- Tier ranking and progression
- Optional spending or activity thresholds
- Membership validity
- Seasonal or fixed end dates
- Automatic renewal
- What happens to a customer’s tier when membership renews
Memberships can be permanent, annual, seasonal or based on a rolling validity period.
When a membership renews, the operator can choose whether the customer retains their current tier, returns to the starting level or has their status reassessed.
This gives operators the flexibility to create a simple paid membership, an earned status programme or a blended model where customers purchase access to the programme and unlock greater benefits through continued engagement.
Glownet also maintains the history behind that relationship, including when the customer enrolled and how they have moved between tiers over time.
For customers, membership is not hidden inside a back-office database.
It is visible directly within their Glownet wallet.
Customers can see their current tier, membership status, member-since date, active membership period, renewal status, loyalty balance and tier history.
This makes membership a visible part of the experience, helping customers understand their status and the relationship they are building with the operator.
Gamification: you set the rewards
Gamification turns activity into progress.
Instead of treating every interaction as an isolated transaction, operators can create milestones that encourage customers to participate, explore and return.
A customer could work towards a reward by purchasing a set number of products, visiting on several days, exploring different locations, completing activities or reaching a cumulative spending or top-up target.
For example:
- Buy nine products and unlock the tenth
- Visit on three separate days and receive a discount
- Explore three locations and earn a reward
- Complete five activities within a defined period
- Reach a wallet top-up target and receive additional value
- Progress into a new tier and unlock a welcome benefit
The operator defines the behaviour, the threshold and the outcome.
Rewards might include free point-of-sale products, percentage discounts, fixed-value benefits, loyalty points, welcome packs, tier privileges or other customer-specific entitlements.
They can be applied automatically or presented as an optional benefit during checkout. Operators can also control expiry, usage limits and whether a reward can be combined with other offers.
Rules and rewards are configured independently.
That means the same reward can be unlocked by different behaviours, while the same behaviour can generate different outcomes depending on the programme.
A free product might be earned after a purchase target, a visit milestone or progression into a new membership tier.
The operator controls the journey that unlocks it.
Rules define what counts. Tiers define status. Rewards define the outcome.
The strength of Glownet’s engagement engine comes from connecting all three.
Rules determine which customer actions are recognised.
Tiers define membership status and progression.
Rewards determine what the customer earns or unlocks.
A customer might purchase or earn their initial membership, collect points through purchases, make progress towards a challenge, unlock a reward and eventually move into a higher tier.
Each part of that journey is configurable.
A programme can begin with one simple rule and a single membership tier. Over time, the operator can introduce more targeted promotions, new tiers, cumulative challenges and a wider range of rewards.
The engine grows with the engagement strategy.
Configure it in Glownet. Experience it in the wallet.
Operators manage their programmes through the Glownet administration platform.
From one place, teams can configure programme settings, create rules, define tiers, build rewards and review how loyalty earnings are being evaluated.
The Loyalty overview brings together member totals, active rules, tiers and earning reconciliation, giving operational teams visibility into both the programme setup and its performance.
For customers, the experience is delivered through the Glownet wallet they already use.
Their loyalty and membership information sits alongside their RFID tag, QR credential, payment card, orders, transaction history and wallet balances.
Customers can view their current membership tier, membership status, points balance, points earned and spent, and their tier history.
There is no need for a separate loyalty card or disconnected customer account.
The same identity used for access, payments and wallet activity can connect the customer to their membership, points and rewards.
This creates a more consistent customer experience and gives the operator a more complete understanding of engagement.
The underlying implementation supports configurable rules, membership lifecycles, tier histories, immediate promotions, cumulative progress mechanics and customer-specific reward entitlements.
One identity across the entire experience
Many loyalty platforms understand only what happens at the point of sale.
Glownet can connect engagement to a much wider journey.
Ticketing knows who purchased. Access control knows who arrived. Point of sale knows what they bought. Payments knows what they spent. The wallet gives the customer one place to see and use their identity.
Glownet connects those interactions.
A festival can encourage customers to explore more areas of the site. A resort can reward participation across multiple activities. A venue can recognise repeat attendance. A membership organisation can combine paid access with earned status. A retailer can connect immediate promotions with longer-term rewards.
The same engagement engine supports each model.
It has also been designed around the realities of physical operations, where customers move between entrances, outlets and activities, and connectivity may not always be reliable.
Eligible earnings from an offline transaction can be assessed after it synchronises, helping operators maintain a clearer record without slowing down the sale.
Loyalty means whatever you need it to mean
Loyalty can mean points.
It can also mean BOGO, happy hour, cashback, recognition, access, status, rewards, progression, participation or belonging.
Membership can be paid, earned or both.
Gamification can be a simple purchase milestone or a journey spanning multiple visits, activities and locations.
Glownet brings all of these possibilities together through one configurable engagement engine.
You set the rules.
You set the tiers.
You set the rewards.
Glownet connects them to the customer’s identity, turning every interaction into an opportunity to build the next one.
