Fête Final Goes Cashless

December 18, 2018

Ecole Hoteliere Lausanne is the leading hospitality management school in the world. Founded in 1893, the school is renowned worldwide for the range of services it offers to students, including bachelors in culinary arts, hotel management and global hospitality.

The final party, or the Fête Finale is the annual graduation ball for over 1600 departing third-year students. This year, the evening travelled back in time 100 years to adopt the theme of the roaring twenties, but took a step towards into the future by implementing advanced event technology.

Glownet joined with Fête Finale this year to provide a seamless cashless payment solution to the event. When guests bought their tickets, they were given RFID wristbands pre-loaded with complimentary refreshments that were included in the tickets. Glownet also enabled a mobile top-up system during the gala dinner, so that guests could load more money onto their wristbands for the after party from their phones.

“Fete Finale is the perfect demonstration of how Glownet can cater to an event of any size. The intimate nature of the graduation ball allowed Glownet’s technology to flourish in a unique location amongst the future leaders of global hospitality.”

In addition, Glownet trained EHL students to use the cashless payment system the day before the event. This meant that the students were in complete control of their own event, an operational decision which corresponded with the core philosophies of the school.

Glownet were thrilled to have been a part of Fête Finale 2018. It was a pleasure to introduce our technology to the future global leaders of hospitality, who we look forward to working with in the future.
