Attendees at this year’s South Summit conference in Madrid enjoy a cashless experience, thanks to clever collaboration by Glownet and its partners.
South Summit has become one of the leading events in the global tech scene, attracting an audience of 12,500 professionals from 70 markets, and provides a forum for some 3,500 tech start-ups to attract over $1.4bn in investments.
The team at South Summit were keen to ensure that their event delivered innovation at every level, and that’s why they chose Glownet to integrate a cashless economy for their attendees.
The solution was developed alongside event accreditation experts, Boomset. Through the clever application of NFC integration upon arrival, the registration process and access control platforms were seamlessly linked to Glownet’s cashless solution, allowing attendees to seamlessly check-in to the event and instantly access the micro-economy through RFID wristbands.
An online portal hosted on the South Summit website enabled guests to credit funds to their virtual accounts prior to arrival. Accounts were then associated to an RFID wristband at check-in, allowing them to complete cashless transactions on-site. Live top-ups via an online portal and on-site kiosks were also enabled, increasing spend further.
